Version 2.0 — October 27, 2026

  • New section: Secondary Credit Bureaus. Covers Innovis, LexisNexis (which now handles SageStream), ChexSystems, NCTUE, Clarity (Experian), FactorTrust (TransUnion), DataX (Equifax, includes Teletrack), MicroBilt (which took over PRBC), Early Warning Services, TeleCheck, and Certegy. It includes:
    • what each bureau tracks, and whether it offers a freeze and whether that freeze is free, with each bureau's official freeze page
    • what a freeze does and doesn't do
    • how to get your free reports
    • how to dispute a wrong record
    • a tip on lifting the right freeze before you apply for a bank account or loan
  • New myth-busters. Innovis isn't one of the big three. Freezing LexisNexis doesn't stop the big three from verifying your accounts. The CFPB calls "credit sweeps" a likely scam.
  • Expanded disclaimers. General educational information, not legal or financial advice. Laws, fees, and bureau procedures change, so verify freeze links and phone numbers directly with each bureau. BMG Ventures LLC is not a credit repair organization and doesn't charge for this guide.
  • Version bump. The guide is now Version 2.0, dated October 27, 2026. Sections after the new one were renumbered.

  • Homepage: the background skyline now shows a well-known landmark from the nearest major city in your region (for example Richmond, Washington DC and St. Louis), still without using your precise location.

  • Homepage: the top banner now shows a city skyline that matches your general region and changes with the time of day (morning, afternoon, evening and night).
  • Homepage and Scans page: added the note "We don't use your precise location."

Site v1.5 — October 28, 2026

  • Contact form: you can now choose "Feedback" as your topic to share thoughts about BMG Ventures.

Site v1.4 — October 28, 2026

  • Homepage: you can now get the free DIY Credit Repair Guide right from the homepage. Enter your email and the guide is sent to your inbox.
